Breakfast Recipes - Broken Wheat Upuma
Broken Wheat(dahlia)
Serves 2
Ingredients :
- Broken Wheat - 1cup
- Water - 11/2 cup
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
- Urad dhal - 1/2 teaspoon
- Split Bengal Gram - 1tablespoon
- Curry leaves few
- Dry Red chilli - 2(cut into small)
- big onion minced - 1
- Ginger Grated few
- Oil - 1/2 table spoon
- coconut grated - 1table spoon
- salt as needed
Method
- Put Broken Wheat , water & salt in the Pressure cooker,Cook for 2 whistles.
- Heat the oil in the pan,splitter mustard seeds,then add urad dhal,split bengal gram dhal & fry for a while.Then add dry red chilli,curry leaves ,cut onions & Ginger.Fry until onion translucent.
- Add the cooked broken wheat & mix it.using the spatula level the upuma. Keep it in low fire for 1-2 minutes.
- Add the coconut & mix well. Switch off the fire & serve as hot.
