Bread machine Recipes - White Bread
Recently, I bought
a bread machine. I used to make breads by hand but now my work has become much
easier. The following recipes are the ones I use regularly.
White Bread Recipe:
Makes one loaf.
Ingredients:
- Warm Water - 230ml/1cup
- Unbleached White bread flour – 375gm or 3 1/4 cups
- Salt -7.5ml or 1 1/2tsp
- Brown sugar or normal granulated sugar or honey or mix of honey & sugar -7.5ml or 2tbsp
- Butter or vegetable oil - 25g or 2 tbsp
- Easy bake (rapid-rise) dried yeast – 5ml or 1tsp
(Optional - If you want a golden crust, add skimmed milk
powder- 15ml or 1tbsp)

Method:
- Pour the water in the bread machine pan.
- sprinkle the bread flour ensuring it covers the water
- Add the sugar,salt & oil in separate corners of the bread pan.
- Make a small indent in the centre of the flour and add the yeast.
- Set the bread machine to the white/basic setting,chose the crust,press start.
- Remove the bread at the end of the cycle.turn out on to the wire rack.
If the instructions in your bread machine specify that the yeast is to be placed in the pan.Then reverse the order from 4 to 1.
