Chicken Curry Recipe
This chicken curry goes well with Rice or idly dosa or appam or chapathi or toasted bread.
Ingredients :
- Chicken cut & cleaned - 1kg
- Masala powders
- Chilli powder - 3 teaspoon
- Corriander powder - 3 teaspoon
- Turmeric -1teaspoon
- Cumin Powder - 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala -1 teaspoon
- Pepper Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Onions chopped - 2
- Tomato chopped -1 big
- Garlic - 5-6 cloves
- Ginger - 1inch piece
- Coconut milk - 200ml
- Salt as needed
- Oil - 1tablespoon
- Seasoning - Cardamom 1, cinnamon 1stick,aniseeds 1/2 teaspoon,Cloves -1
- Coriander chopped- 1tablespoon
Method :
- Clean the chicken and marinate with 1teaspoon chilli powder,1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder & salt for about 10 minutes.Keep aside.
- Grind the ginger & garlic paste.
- Heat the heavy bottom pan.Add oil,season with cardamom,cinnamon,aniseeds & cloves.Add & fry the onions until translucent & add ginger garlic paste fry for few seconds.
- Add the marinated chicken,put all the masalas & salt.Then add cut potatoes & chopped tomatoes,mix well.Cook for about 2minutes.
- Add 1cup or 240ml water & close the lid,let to cook the chicken for about 15-20 minutes(depends on the chicken).
- Add the coconut milk,cook in a medium fire for about 5- 10 minutes until the oil comes out.Switch off the stove,decorate with the chopped coriander leaves.Serve hot.
Variation -you can replace the masala powder with chicken/meat masala powder.
